Several products in our range look alike or have similar names, but they are made for very different jobs. This quick guide matches the job to the product.
| The job | The product |
|---|---|
| Vehicles and machines with SCR that call for AdBlue®: trucks, utes, cars, tractors and plant | AdBlue® (AUS 32) |
| SCR on marine diesel engines that specify a 40% solution | Marine AUS 40 |
| Battery top-up, coolant mixing, spot-free rinsing, lab and process water | Demineralised water |
| Nitrogen fertiliser for pasture, cropping and horticulture | Agricultural urea |
| Storing and dispensing AdBlue® on site | Tanks and accessories |
| Containing and cleaning up leaks | Spill kits and absorbents |
These are the substitutions we hear about most. Each one can lead to a repair bill far larger than the price of the right product.
AdBlue® is 32.5% urea. AUS 40 is 40% urea for marine SCR. They are not interchangeable. The wrong concentration can trigger quality-sensor faults and upset dosing in either system.
AdBlue® is made from technical-grade urea and demineralised water to ISO 22241. Agricultural urea is made for soil, not for exhaust systems, and is not suitable for mixing a home-made diesel exhaust fluid.
Tap water carries calcium, magnesium and chlorides. In batteries, coolant mixes or AdBlue® they cause scale, corrosion and contamination. Use demineralised water wherever the manual asks for it.
A pump, hose or jug used for diesel, oil or coolant will contaminate AdBlue® and demineralised water. Keep dedicated, labelled equipment for each product.
Our guide to AdBlue® compatible materials explains which tanks, fittings and hoses are safe to use. If a product has already gone into the wrong tank, stop using that equipment and call us before you run it. Draining a tank early is far better value than replacing an SCR catalyst or injector.
Putting several products on one delivery is often better value than buying each from a different supplier. To quote accurately we need a few details.
You can also build a list on the online store, which sends your order request to us. We confirm the price and delivery before anything is supplied.
No. Trucks and other road and off-road SCR systems are designed for AdBlue, which is 32.5 percent urea. AUS 40 is 40 percent urea for marine engines that specify it. The two are not interchangeable.
No. AdBlue must be made from technical-grade urea and demineralised water to ISO 22241. Agricultural urea is a fertiliser and is not suitable for exhaust systems.
Yes. AdBlue, demineralised water and accessories can be quoted together. Call or email your list and we will quote delivery to your suburb.
