Central Victoria gets both ends of the weather. Summer brings runs of hot, dry days near or above 40 °C, and winter brings frosty mornings. For AdBlue®, it is the summer heat that matters.
AdBlue® keeps about 12 months at or below 30 °C and about 6 months at or below 35 °C. A shed with an iron roof in a Bendigo heatwave can go well past that. Buy in quantities you'll use within a few months over summer, and keep containers shaded and ventilated.
AdBlue® freezes at about −11 °C, far colder than a Bendigo frost. If it ever does freeze, it thaws without harm. Never add anything to it for the cold.
Bendigo is a hub for grain and sheep country, food processing and the freight that moves between Melbourne and northern Victoria along the Calder and Midland Highways. Most local users fall into one of three groups.
Tractors, headers and farm trucks, with usage peaking at sowing and harvest. 20 L or 210 L drums with a hand pump suit most, moving to an IBC as newer machines replace old ones.
Rigid trucks on local and regional runs. These fleets use AdBlue® steadily all year, which makes an IBC at the depot the usual choice.
Sites with their own trucks, forklifts or plant, often wanting a Certificate of Analysis for their records. We supply one for your batch on request.
Four rigid trucks each doing 1,200 km a week at about 30 L/100 km use around 1,440 L of diesel a week between them. At 3–6% of diesel, that is roughly 43–86 L of AdBlue® a week, or about 190–370 L a month. In 20 L drums that is 10 to 19 drums a month. One 1,000 L IBC would last three to five months, at $0.89 a litre instead of about $1.58.

Bendigo and Central Victoria are supplied from our Melbourne site at Brooklyn, about 150 km south along the Calder Freeway. You can collect Ex Works at Brooklyn (call for the pickup address), or we quote delivery to your suburb. For depots and farms with steady use, regular runs can be arranged.
If you are moving from drums to an IBC, you'll need a pump and nozzle that suit AdBlue®. Use polyethylene, polypropylene or stainless steel parts only, never brass or galvanised fittings from the diesel bowser. We sell 12 V and 240 V pumps, auto nozzles, meters and IBC covers.

Yes. Shelf life is about 12 months at or below 30 degrees Celsius and about 6 months at or below 35 degrees. In a hot shed during a heatwave it can drop faster, so keep stock shaded and ventilated and buy what you will use within a few months.
Once you are using more than about 150 litres a month. For example, four rigid trucks on regional runs can use 190 to 370 litres a month, and an IBC costs 95 cents a litre compared with about $1.58 in 20 litre drums.
No. Diesel pumps and fittings often contain brass, aluminium or galvanised steel, which AdBlue attacks, and any diesel residue will contaminate it. Use a dedicated AdBlue pump and nozzle.
