Much of the Sunshine Coast's AdBlue® goes into machines that never see a service station: tractors in the hinterland, forestry plant in the pine plantations around Beerburrum, and excavators on the new estates in the southern growth areas.
These operations buy differently to a highway fleet. Machines are topped up in a paddock or on a pad, often from a drum on the back of a service ute, and usage swings with the season or the project stage.
Start from your diesel. AdBlue® use is about 3–6% of diesel for trucks, and can be higher for some off-road engines. If your site or farm goes through 3,000 L of diesel a month, plan on roughly 90–180 L of AdBlue®, and allow more if most of it is burnt in newer off-road machines.
15 L or 20 L drums are easy to lift onto a ute and pour straight into a tractor or excavator. Use a clean funnel or a drum hand pump, not a bucket.
A 210 L drum or a 1,000 L IBC at the shed, with a 12 V pump to fill a smaller transfer tank on the service ute, cuts the per-litre cost and the number of containers to manage.
The Sunshine Coast is warm and humid for much of the year, and hinterland sheds can get hot under an iron roof. AdBlue® keeps about 12 months at or below 30 °C, dropping to about 6 months at or below 35 °C. A sealed IBC sitting against a sunny wall will not last as long as the same IBC on the shaded side.
The bigger local risk is usually contamination. Farm and forestry machines are filled where there is dust, bark, cane trash and insects.
Our article on what contaminates AdBlue® covers the common causes in more detail.
We supply the Sunshine Coast and hinterland from our Brisbane site at Rocklea, about 100 km south via the Bruce Highway. You can collect Ex Works from Rocklea if you are already in Brisbane, or we quote delivery to your suburb. For farms and project sites with steady use, regular runs can be arranged so you are not ringing around when a tank gets low.

Yes. Liquidia holds VDA AdBlue® licence No. 0005569 and every batch is tested to ISO 22241.
Single drums are available (call for a price), and 210 L drums and IBCs are the same price for one or more.
Start from your diesel use. Trucks typically use AdBlue at about 3 to 6 percent of diesel, and some off-road engines use more. A site using 3,000 litres of diesel a month would need roughly 90 to 180 litres of AdBlue.
Yes, as long as you keep it clean. Wipe the filler neck first, use a clean funnel or a drum hand pump, and keep the drum capped between fills. Dust and bark in the tank are a common cause of SCR faults.
No. AdBlue must never be diluted, and only demineralised water should be used around SCR equipment. Rainwater and tap water contain minerals that can damage the system.
It can be, if the IBC is on the shaded side, off the ground and the shed is ventilated. Under a hot iron roof, AdBlue shelf life drops towards 6 months, so buy in amounts you will use in that time.
