AdBlue® Price per Litre in Australia: 2026 Guide

From about $1.95 a litre in a 10 L drum down to under $1 a litre in bulk packs. Here is what AdBlue costs in 2026 and what changes the price you actually pay.

Ask what AdBlue® costs per litre and the honest answer is: it depends mostly on how much you buy at once and how it gets to you. The same product can cost roughly twice as much per litre in a small drum as in a 1,000 L IBC. This guide uses Liquidia's own published 2026 prices so you can see where the numbers come from.

Liquidia's published prices

These are Ex Works prices, excluding GST, for pickup from our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne locations. The per-litre figure is simply the pack price divided by its volume, rounded to the nearest cent.

PackPrice (ex GST)Per litre (ex GST)
10 L drum$19.50$1.95
15 L drum$27.50$1.83
20 L drum$31.50$1.58
210 L drum$185.00$0.88
1,000 L IBC (timber base)$890.00$0.89
1,000 L IBC (steel base)$990.00$0.99

Small drums are priced by the pallet (75 × 10 L, 48 × 15 L or 48 × 20 L). Single 10, 15 and 20 L drums are available too; call for pricing. The 210 L drum is sold singly or in pallets of four. Perth prices are available on request. The current list is always on our price list page.

What "Ex Works" and "ex GST" mean for your total

Two things are not included in those figures:

  • GST. Add 10%. Most businesses claim it back, but it matters for cash flow and for private buyers.
  • Delivery. Ex Works means the price at our door. Delivery is quoted to your suburb, and the cost per litre depends on how much is on the truck. Freight on a single drum can be a large share of the total, while on a pallet or IBC it is spread across far more litres.

If you're comparing quotes from different suppliers, make sure you're comparing the same thing: price including or excluding GST, delivered or pickup, and the same pack size.

Bulk tanker prices

For sites that use a lot of AdBlue, bulk delivery into an on-site tank is usually the lowest cost per litre. Liquidia delivers by tanker in loads from 1,000 L up to 32,000 L. Bulk prices aren't published because they depend on the volume per delivery, how often you order and where you are. Ask for a quote with your expected usage and location, and see our bulk and on-site tank options.

Bulk also removes packaging from the equation: no drums or IBCs to handle, store or return, and no partly used containers sitting in the sun.

What else affects the real cost

Price per litre on the invoice isn't the whole story. A few things quietly change what you actually pay per litre that goes into a vehicle:

  • Waste. Drums left open, spilt or stored hot past their shelf life are litres paid for and not used. Heat shortens shelf life: around 12 months at storage up to 30°C and only about 6 months up to 35°C.
  • Handling. Small drums take time to carry and pour. An IBC or tank with a pump is quicker for regular use but needs a forklift and dispensing equipment.
  • Quality. Off-spec AdBlue can lead to SCR repairs and downtime that dwarf any saving on price. Licensed, tested product removes that risk from the supply side.
  • Running out. Emergency single drums from a roadhouse cost more per litre than planned orders. The late 2021 urea shortage also showed the value of keeping some safety stock.

One thing to do today: check how much AdBlue your fleet uses in a typical month, using your last few invoices or our usage calculator. If you're getting through hundreds of litres a month in 20 L drums, it's worth pricing an IBC or bulk setup. The difference in the table above is around 60 cents a litre.
