AdBlue^® on the Hume corridor

Albury–Wodonga sits on the busiest interstate freight route in the country. Much of the local AdBlue® demand comes from linehaul and interstate carriers based on the border, not just trucks passing through.

A worked example: Sydney–Melbourne linehaul

A B-double running the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne covers roughly 880 km each way. At around 50 L/100 km, that's about 440 L of diesel per leg, and at 3–6% dosing, about 13–26 L of AdBlue® per leg. A truck doing five return trips a week uses roughly 130–260 L of AdBlue® a week.

For a border depot running changeover or relay work with ten trucks, that adds up to around 1,300–2,600 L a week. At that scale, a bulk tank with scheduled tanker deliveries is the obvious choice. • Tank-level monitoring means deliveries can be scheduled before the tank runs low, not after.
• A meter on the dispenser lets you track AdBlue® use per truck, which helps catch dosing faults early.

Farm, manufacturing and storage on the Murray

Away from the freight yards, AdBlue® is used on grain and livestock farms on both sides of the river, on dairy farms in north-east Victoria, and by manufacturers and warehouses on the industrial estates in both cities. Most of these buyers use less than a linehaul fleet, so pack size matters.

Summer storage on the border

Albury–Wodonga summers are hot, often above 35 °C. AdBlue® kept at or below 35 °C lasts about 6 months, and anything stored hotter should be tested before use. Keep drums and IBCs in a ventilated shed, out of direct sun, and buy amounts you'll use within a season. Winter frosts are common but rarely approach the freezing point of AdBlue® (about −11 °C).
