Bulk AdBlue® Supply in Brisbane: Rocklea

Liquidia supplies AdBlue from our Rocklea warehouse in Brisbane. Here is how bulk supply works for south-east Queensland fleets, farms and depots.

Home › Guides › Buying & locations

Brisbane sits at the centre of a huge freight network. Trucks head north up the Bruce Highway, west over the range to the Darling Downs, and south to the Gold Coast and New South Wales. Almost all modern heavy vehicles on those routes use AdBlue®, and so do many of the tractors, harvesters and earthmoving machines working across south-east Queensland. Liquidia supplies AdBlue from our Rocklea warehouse, giving local operators an Australian manufacturer with stock on their doorstep.

Our Rocklea warehouse

Rocklea is in Brisbane's south-western industrial belt, close to the Ipswich Motorway and within easy reach of the Logan Motorway and the Centenary corridor. That location suits operators heading west towards Ipswich and Toowoomba, south towards Logan and the Gold Coast, or into the city and port.

Both sites make AdBlue under our VDA licence No. 0005569, with every batch lab-tested to ISO 22241. Certificates of Analysis are available on request. Having two local sites gives us flexibility on stock and scheduling.

Who uses bulk AdBlue around Brisbane

South-east Queensland has a broad mix of diesel users, and bulk demand reflects that:

  • Linehaul and interstate freight operators running the Brisbane–Sydney and Brisbane–Melbourne routes, and north to regional Queensland.
  • Port and container transport servicing the Port of Brisbane and nearby distribution centres.
  • Agriculture across the Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Darling Downs, where modern tractors, harvesters and spray rigs increasingly use SCR.
  • Quarrying, mining services and civil works in the Ipswich area and on major road projects.
  • Council, waste and bus fleets across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Moreton Bay.

Farm use is worth a special mention, because it behaves differently from fleet use. AdBlue demand on farms is seasonal, peaking at planting and harvest. Bulk storage on the property, filled ahead of the busy period, avoids running short when machinery is working long days.

Queensland heat and AdBlue storage

Brisbane's climate is the main storage challenge. AdBlue's shelf life depends on storage temperature. Kept at or below 25°C it lasts about 18 months; at up to 30°C about 12 months; at up to 35°C only about 6 months. Above 35°C, it should be tested before use.

A tank in full summer sun on a Queensland property can easily sit above 35°C through the afternoon. Heat breaks urea down into ammonia, so a strong ammonia smell is a warning sign.

Practical steps for Queensland sites:

  • Site tanks and IBCs in shade, or under a roof with good airflow.
  • Use insulated covers on IBCs stored outside.
  • Order to match use rather than stocking up for months ahead.
  • Use older stock first.

Something you can do today: put an inexpensive min/max thermometer next to your AdBlue storage for a week. If it regularly reads above 30°C, you have a clear reason to move the tank, shade it or order smaller, more frequent deliveries.
