Melbourne is one of the country's main freight hubs, with the Port of Melbourne, the western industrial suburbs and major highways carrying goods to Sydney, Adelaide and regional Victoria. Most modern trucks, buses and machinery on those routes rely on AdBlue®. Liquidia holds AdBlue stock in Brooklyn in Melbourne's inner west, giving Victorian operators local access to VDA-licensed product.
Our site in Melbourne's west
Brooklyn sits between the West Gate Freeway and the Western Ring Road, surrounded by the industrial and logistics areas of Altona, Laverton, Derrimut and Sunshine. It is a practical base for operators working out of the western suburbs or heading onto the Princes Freeway towards Geelong and the Western Highway towards Ballarat.
AdBlue from our Melbourne site is VDA-licensed (licence No. 0005569), lab-tested batch by batch to ISO 22241. Certificates of Analysis are available on request, and our 12-month product guarantee applies.
Collecting in Melbourne: call first
The one thing to know about our Melbourne operation is that the pickup address is given by phone. Our stock is held at a Brooklyn facility and we don't publish the street address.
Before you collect:
- Call 1300 106 220 or email orders@liquidia.com.au with what you need.
- We confirm the order, the pickup address and a collection time.
- Bring a vehicle suited to the load and the order reference.
This also means your order is ready when you arrive, rather than waiting on the day.
Something you can do today: if you plan to collect IBCs, check your vehicle's payload before you ring. A full 1,000 L IBC weighs about 1,150 kg, which is more than many utes and light trailers are rated to carry. You will also need a forklift at your site to unload it.
Who uses AdBlue in Melbourne
Melbourne's demand comes from a wide mix of operators:
- Interstate linehaul running the Hume to Sydney and the Western Highway to Adelaide.
- Container and port transport moving freight between the Port of Melbourne and warehouses in the west and north.
- Distribution and warehousing in the growth corridors of Truganina, Derrimut and beyond.
- Construction and civil contractors working on road, rail and housing projects.
- Bus, waste and council fleets across metropolitan Melbourne.
Smaller workshops and owner-drivers often prefer 10 L, 15 L or 20 L drums, while depots with steady use move to IBCs or a bulk tank.
Location within Melbourne matters too. Operators based in the west can often collect from Brooklyn as part of a normal run, while depots in the northern or south-eastern suburbs may find delivery more practical than crossing the city with a loaded vehicle. Tell us where you are and we will suggest the simpler option.
Melbourne weather and AdBlue storage
Melbourne's weather is changeable, and that affects storage in both directions.
In summer, hot northerly days can push outdoor storage well above 30°C. AdBlue's shelf life drops as temperatures rise — around 18 months at up to 25°C, and about 12 months at up to 30°C. Keep tanks and IBCs shaded.
In winter, metropolitan Melbourne rarely gets cold enough to freeze AdBlue, which freezes at about −11°C. But fleets travelling through alpine areas or parked overnight in cold inland towns may see it happen. Frozen AdBlue thaws without losing quality, and vehicle systems have heaters. The key point for storage is not to overfill containers that may freeze, as AdBlue expands roughly 7% when it does.
