How to Order Bulk AdBlue® Tanker Delivery

A practical checklist for ordering bulk AdBlue by tanker — delivery sizes, site access and what to have ready so the delivery goes smoothly.

Home › Guides › Buying & locations

Moving to bulk AdBlue® delivery means product arrives by tanker and is pumped straight into your on-site tank. No more handling drums, stacking IBCs or chasing empties. But a bulk delivery only runs smoothly if the site is ready and the order has the right information. This guide covers what to sort out before you pick up the phone.

How bulk delivery works

A bulk delivery is simple in principle. A tanker carrying AdBlue arrives at your site, connects its hose to your tank's fill point and pumps the ordered volume in. The driver records the delivered quantity and you receive an invoice.

Liquidia delivers bulk AdBlue in quantities from 1,000 L up to 32,000 L. Bulk pricing is quoted on volume and location, so the per-litre price depends on how much you take and where your site is.

Bulk suits operators who use AdBlue steadily: transport depots, bus and council fleets, mine and quarry sites, larger farms and service stations. If your use is irregular or small, IBCs or drums may still make more sense.

Before you order: check your tank

Your tank has to be ready to receive product. Check these points first:

  • Capacity and current level — know how much room is in the tank. Order to fill the available space, not the tank's nominal size.
  • Headspace — don't plan to fill to the brim. AdBlue expands about 7% if it freezes at around −11°C, so leave room in cold areas.
  • Fill point — the tanker needs a clearly marked, AdBlue-only fill connection, in good condition and capped when not in use.
  • Tank condition — the tank must be clean, dedicated to AdBlue and made of a compatible material such as HDPE or stainless steel.
  • Overfill protection — a high-level alarm or reliable gauge helps the driver stop at the right point.
  • Containment — check with your state EPA and site requirements on bunding for your tank size and location.

Site access for the tanker

Access is the most common cause of delivery problems. A tanker is a large vehicle and it needs room to get in, park and get out safely.

  • Is there a clear route from the street to the tank, with enough height and turning space?
  • Can the tanker park within hose reach of the fill point without blocking other traffic?
  • Is the ground firm enough, especially after rain on unsealed sites?
  • Are there gates, boom barriers or security that need codes or someone to meet the driver?
  • Does your site require a driver induction, PPE or sign-in?
  • Are there set delivery windows, for example to avoid shift change or forklift traffic?

If you are unsure whether a tanker will fit, tell us. A quick photo of the entrance and tank location often answers the question.

What to have ready when you order

Something you can do today: write down the following details and keep them with your AdBlue records, so every order takes a couple of minutes:

  1. Business name, ABN and billing contact.
  2. Delivery address, including any separate gate or entrance.
  3. Site contact name and mobile number for the day of delivery.
  4. Tank size, current level and the volume you want delivered.
  5. Access hours, induction or PPE requirements and any gate codes.
  6. Purchase order number, if your business uses them.
  7. Your preferred delivery date and any days to avoid.

Send the order to orders@liquidia.com.au or call 1300 106 220. If you order regularly, a trade account makes invoicing simpler.

After the delivery, and planning the next one

Once the tanker has gone, check the level reading against the delivered quantity and look around the fill point for drips. Any spilled AdBlue should be rinsed away with plenty of water before it dries to white urea crystals.

Ask for a Certificate of Analysis if your maintenance or compliance records need one — we lab-test every batch to ISO 22241.

Then think about the next order. Many bulk customers move to scheduled refills or remote level monitoring so deliveries are booked before the tank gets low. That removes the risk of an urgent order and the downtime that comes with running out. To estimate how quickly you use product, try our AdBlue usage calculator.
